The short version
Play the quizzes, browse the collection, share what you find. Just don't copy the collection wholesale.
Who runs this
Idiom Voyage is a personal project. For anything to do with the site, write to feedback@idiomvoyage.com.
Using the site
The site is free to use for personal learning and enjoyment. Quote an idiom, share a page with a friend, settle an argument about what a phrase really means. A link back is always appreciated.
Copyright
Nobody owns the idioms themselves; they belong to the languages they come from. The explanations, origin notes, example sentences, quiz questions, and audio on this site are original work and are © Idiom Voyage. Please don't republish them without permission.
Database rights
The collection as a whole (the selection, checking, and presentation of the idioms, explanations, and audio) is a database in which Idiom Voyage holds database rights. Systematic or substantial extraction or reuse of the collection, whether by scraping, bulk copying, or any other means, is not permitted without written permission.
Accuracy
Idioms are slippery: meanings drift, origins are disputed, and usage varies from one region to the next. Everything here is researched in good faith, but the site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. If you spot a mistake, please write in.
Audio
Pronunciations are synthesised. They are a decent guide, but a native speaker in a café will always beat them.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the site grows. The current version always lives on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
