How to play
Step 1: Pick a meaning
A French idiom and four meanings. Only one is right.
Step 2: Stuck? Take the hint
It shows the idiom word for word. Get it right after that and it is worth half a point.
Step 3: Share the squares
Green is clean, amber was right with the hint, red was wrong.
Step 4: Come back tomorrow
A new three at 9am, your time. Miss a day and the streak starts again.

The three are fixed for the day. That is what makes a score worth comparing, since whoever you send your squares to faced the same puzzle.
Where the three come from
They are drawn from the same collection as the quiz, which covers the whole French-speaking world. One day's three might come from Quebec, Belgium and Senegal. The map shows where each one is spoken.
