Everywhere else in French a pistolet is a handgun. In Belgium it is also what the baker sells you for Sunday breakfast.

Origin
From the Latin pistor, a miller. In medieval Belgium the word shifted to mean a baker, and pistolet, its diminutive, came to name what the baker made.
